Phoenix Industries, a leading manufacturer of pelletized, rubber-modified binder material for the asphalt paving industry, is pleased to announce it has entered into a supply agreement with Liberty Tire Recycling, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. Under this agreement, Liberty will supply various types and sizes of crumb rubber, derived from scrap tires, to Phoenix for the manufacture of their line of PelletPAVE products, used by the asphalt paving industry to improve performance of hot mix asphalt.
“We are pleased to have entered in to this nationwide agreement with Liberty. Crumb rubber is one of the main ingredients in our products, and Liberty being the largest tire recycling company in the U.S. allows us to produce and distribute across the country. Our two companies have made strong commitments to sustainability, and this demonstrates it by helping complete the recycling circle from scrap tire, back to the roadway.” said Phoenix Industries Technical Director, Kelly Sockwell. “With Liberty’s footprint, and our flexible process, when we visit a local road agency engineer’s office, quite often we can add that our products are made with rubber from locally generated scrap tires. It’s always a plus when government officials are able to do something to benefit their local communities’ environment.” Mr. Sockwell added.
“Liberty is excited to support innovative asphalt applications like those of PelletPAVE. Our experience supplying asphalt projects at the National Center for Asphalt Technology test track, and our long-term commitment to the asphalt rubber industry, align perfectly with our goal to Reclaim, Recycle, and Reuse scrap tires for the betterment of our communities.” said Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Steve Bigelow.
The PelletPAVE family of products include our flagship product PelletPAVE, which is used to produce high-rubber content asphalt rubber mixes, PelletPAVE-TR, used as a substitute for terminal blended rubber binder, and PelletRAP, a rejuvenator for high recycle content asphalt mixes.
For more than 12 years, Phoenix Industries has manufactured specialty equipment and materials for the modified asphalt industry.
